ProStart

Acid Production
The bacterial strains in Prostart-DFM produce lactic acid, which lowers intestinal pH. This results in unfavorable growing conditions for pathogenic bacteria.
Acid Tolerant
These bacteria are very tolerant of acid and bile allowing them to survive passage through the abomasum (true stomach) into the small intestine.
Secondary Metabolics
In addition to lactic acid, other metabolites are produced by the bacteria that inhibit pathogenic bacterial growth including E. coli and Staph. aureus.
Balanced Population
Continuous feeding allows for a healthy balance between beneficial and pathogenic bacteria.
Enzyme Production
Direct Fed Microbials produce enzymes, such as urease and glycosidase, which aid in digestion and utilization of proteins and carbohydrates.
ProStart Plus
A highly concentrated source of lactic acid producing bacteria, active yeast, and enzyme-producing fungi for use in pre-ruminant calves. ProStart Plus is designed to be fed during times when stressful conditions or health challenges might arise. These could include start-up, shipping, ration changes, vaccination or antibiotic treatment, or weather changes.
