David is a member of the fifth generation involved in the Strauss family agricultural business. He holds a B.A. from DePauw University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. When he's not working David enjoys travel and outdoor activities – most anything to do with water or snow.
David acknowledges that Strauss Feeds "enjoys the benefits of many long-standing relationships developed over many years, and in some cases, many generations." He recognizes that this naturally creates a stronger commitment by Strauss to "do well" by these relationships.
Since he began at Strauss in 1982, David has been adamant in assuring that customers enjoy success in their operations, employees find satisfaction in their work, and the communities in which Strauss operates develop a better and healthier quality of life.
Since joining the company in 1996, Dan has successfully led formulation, quality control, research and sales efforts at Strauss Feeds. He holds two B.S. degrees, an M.S. degree from Penn State and a Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky.

Dan enjoys traveling and camping with horses, collecting firearms, gardening and working for a company that "does not have many layers between the management and the customers."
